Ramadhan mubarak

Dear readers,

Salam aleikum and Ramadhan mubarak!
Insha'Allah all our efforts this month will be rewarded,
may Allah swt make your fast easy and may you achieve greater spiritual grounds.
I wanted to write this blog update firstly to congratulate everybody with the beginning of the Holy month of Ramadhan, secondly to apologize for my long absence and thirdly to share some things about Ramadhan that maybe not everybody thought or thinks about. As I congratulated you with the beginning of the month of the Holy month of Ramadhan, my second point on the agenda was to apologize for my absence. I am truly sorry for not working on this blog for the last 3 months. I have been quite busy. I finished my studies and obtained a Bachelor of Science and on top of that I got married :). So as you can imagine, it has been quite busy these last few months. But alhamdullillah Allah swt has given me great people which have helped me during this period. Insha'Allah they are rewarded for their efforts and kindness and may their reward in the next life be even greater.
Thirdly and most importantly is the information about Ramadhan that I for one was also not so aware of, until recently. As I knew before, it is good to eat during Suhur (the time just before morning prayer), however I did not know that there are extra du'as you can do which will isha'Allah help you through a day of fasting, especially long ones you experience during summer.

It is recommended to read Surah Qadr at the time of Suhur, the verse is as seen here and the translation is the following:

In The Name Of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful
(1) Surely We revealed it on the grand night.
(2) And what will make you comprehend what the grand night
(3) The grand night is better than a thousand months.
(4) The angels and Jibreel descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair,
(5) Peace! it is till the break of the morning.

Here is a list of Du'as recommended at the time of Suhur:
As these acts of worship are all before the beginning of the fasting day,
here are some for Iftar (the breaking of fast). It is recommended to read Surah Qadr again
and to recite the following du'a upon breaking the fast:
O my Allah, for Thee, I fast, and with the food Thou gives me I break the fast, and I rely on Thee.
It is advisable to say the following at the first bite of food taken:
iftaar03
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful, O He whose indulgence is boundless, forgive me.
Dua-e-Ahad
This supplication brings about great merit. The Holy Prophet (saws) recommended this dua to Imam Ali (as) and said that Jibreel (as) came to me and said," Whoever in the holy month of Ramadhan before iftaar recites this dua, Allah (swt) answers his prayer, accepts his prayer and fasting, grants his ten requirements, forgives his sins, removes his grief's, makes his heart at ease, grants his wishes, makes his deeds to ascend upward with the deeds of prophets and righteous saints and on the Day of Judgement brings him to HIS presence with his face illuminated like a bright moon."

Also a nice document on the Etiquette of Iftar, which in most cases is forgotten.
One should be reminded of the status of this month, even when one is not required to fast any more,
one should strive to keep a high spiritual level.
Remember that when fasting, one does not only refrain from eating food, one should also refrain from letting the tongue say bad words, letting the eyes see bad things and letting the ear hear bad sounds/words. For on the Day of Judgement, all these parts (and more) will testify against us. Insha'Allah for all of us, let their testimony is kheir. I wish you a blessed Ramadhan yet again and insha'Allah I will have the time to post another update soon!

Daily Du'a

Dear readers Salam aleikum,
as many know, doing extra du'a and prayers on Friday (Jummah) is something which brings great rewards and tranquillity to the soul, however as most of us are quite busy we forget that there are du'as for every day of the week that can be recited. Next to this there are also du'as for every hour, masha'Allah! Allah swt gave us so many opportunities to seek closeness to Him and yet we only seem to remember on Fridays.
In this spirit I started this blog update;
to share a du'a related by the Fourth Holy Imam Zainul Abideen (a.s.), son the Third Holy Imam Husain (a.s.), son of the First Holy Imam Ali (a.s.) for Saturday.

Translation:
O Allah! Send blessing on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad.
In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful.
"Bismillah" words that seekers of sanctuary repeatedly recite, word that the very cautious, in search of protection, often repeat. for the I seek refuge with Allah, the Exalted above all, from the oppression of the unjust, from the deceitful malice the envious (use) to lay snares and traps, from the injustice and outrage of the tyrants, and I sing His praise, do better and go beyond other praisers.
O Allah, Thou art One, has no partner; and is the Lord—Master, without being made; there is no discrepancy or nonsense in Thy commands, nor there is lawlessness in Thy Kingdom, I beseech Thee, to send blessings on Muhammad, Thy servant, Thy Messenger; to let me ask Thee for enlightenment and inspiration so as to be thankful for Thy bounties, which alone get Thy approval ultimately; to help me to obey Thee, and instinctively worship Thee; and make me deserve Thy rewards on account of Thy very kind patronage; and have mercy on me and prevent me from breaking in the bounds of (Thy) prohibitions, as far as I am kept alive, and show the way unto that which is useful and advantageous till I go on (survive); to let me take to heart the meanings of Thy Book, and, by its reading, throw down the heavy burden (of sins), and receive welfare and salvation, as a gift; let not my family and friends, who love me, leave me alone, let Thy favours reach me, in abundance, during the remainder of my life, exactly as they used to be made available for me, in full in the days gone by, O the Most Merciful.
O Allah! Send blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad.
May all our prayers, du'a and fast be accepted, insha'Allah. May Allah swt help us in all our problems, be they health, financial, social, psychological or of any other nature. May all spreading the truth of the Holy Ahlulbayt (a.s.) be rewarded greatly in this world and the next. Insha'Allah may we all be guided towards the righteous path and may we be protected against shaytan.

Friday (The Day of Imam Al-Mahdi)

Dear readers, Assalamuh aleikum,

I'd like to wish you a blessed Friday! Today I started my day watching a show on Ahlulbayt TV called Reborn, in this show converts tell their stories and I felt inspired to write a new post.
For one of the brothers on this program had a very clear view on the importance and significance of the Holy Household of Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon All). This brother used the example of the previous monotheistic religions in comparison in Islam, that the Ahlulbayt (a.s.) functions as a continuous and living guidance which followed the final and completed religion, which was delivered to us by Allah's mercy through our Last Holy Prophet (a.s.). He said that the religions before, as they were not complete yet, did not require a living 'Apostleship' as does the final religion of Islam. As no new prophet will be rise by Allah's grace to guide us onto the righteous path, the Holy Ahlulbayt (a.s.) is fulfilling this function.
They do so by the narrations of their pristine lives and perfection of faith, by the many explanations of daily life situations and numerous wise Hadiths and the invaluable advice on how to live a pious and just life. This way we are guided through life and this world in such a way that Allah swt will be pleased with us and we will be allowed to enter Paradise, by the unlimited mercy of Allah swt.
May Allah swt bless Muhammed and his Family and may we be on the side of the Last Imam, Imam Mahdi (a.s.). May the Holy members of His Family vouch for us on the Day of Judgement, may our sins be forgiven and our good deeds be rewarded in unending blessing of our Lord Allah swt, insha'Allah!
Below you can read and listen to the Ziyarat Jumah for Imam Mahdi (a.s.), as the Last Imam (a.s.) was born on a Friday and is prophecized to reappear on a Friday, it is beneficial to all to recite this Ziyarat on Fridays.
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
O Allah send blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad. In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
Peace be on you, O the decisive argument of Allah on His earth!
Peace be on you, O the ultimate link of Allah with the mankind!
Peace be on you, O the truth and enlightenment of Allah whom the guided on the Right Path follow and imitate, and who gives heart, joy and confidence to the faithful! Peace be on you, O the just, pure and refined, rendered formidable!
Peace be on you, O the “Wali” (beloved favourite of Allah, a friend, a helper) who always gives sincere advice!
Peace be on you, O the means and medium of liberation and assurance ! Peace be on you, O the spring and essence of life !
Peace be on you. Blessings of Allah be on you and on your pure and pious family.
Peace be on you. May Allah fulfil, at once, in advance , the promise He made with you – to shower mercy and make distinctly visible (your) leadership.
Peace be on you, O Loving Protector !
I am your friend and follower, well aware of your priority and ultimate purpose.
I come near Allah, the Highest High, through you and your family.
I look forward to be there when you come, at your disposal for making known the truth.
I request Allah to send blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad, and make room for me amid those who have fixed the look upon you, who shall comply with your instructions and help you against your enemies, and let me be present before you along with all your friends.
O loving protector !
O the Man of the moment!
Blessings of Allah be on you and on your family. Today is Friday, a day you are expected to come; the faithful will be free of cares and troubles when you shall arrive, and with one strike shall put an end to the intrigues of the infidels.
I, O the Loving friend, in these hours, seek your hospitality and friendship.
You, O my Loving friend, are kind and generous, a true son of the kind and generous forefathers, always inclined by nature to be hospitable and friendly.
So give me a warm welcome and make friends with me.
Blessings of Allah be on you and on your family.
O Allah! Send blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad.
